Candida yeast is normally found in the body but is usually kept at normal levels by good bacteria in the body. If good bacteria is killed by antibiotics or by other reasons, Candida yeast can over grow.
A Candida yeast infection can cause some of these symptoms: tiredness, headaches, mood swings, joint pain, sinus congestion, depression, poor memory, and cravings for sweets. It can penetrate the intestinal wall, causing yeast to be absorbed into the body.
The candida yeast free diet eleminates foods that the candida yeast needs to feed on, thus starving it to death. The diet eliminates foods such as processed refined sugars, bleached flour, fungus and molds, yeast, most B's vitamins, meats with hormones, pork, hydrogenated fats, breads made with yeast, dry roasted nuts, most canned soups, barbecued potato chips, alcohol made with yeast, processed and refined foods, vinegar, fermented products such as soy sauce and tofu, and apple cider.
